Bhubaneswar: A video capturing a serene winter morning in Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary has gone viral, showing a deer gracefully wandering along a small path in Bargarh district.
The clip, shared on social media by DFO of Hirakud Wildlife Division (Debrigarh Sanctuary), Anshu Pragyan Das, has captured the imagination of wildlife enthusiasts across the country.
In the video, the deer is seen strolling along the sanctuary road, bathed in the soft winter sunlight. The sun’s rays glint off its fur, creating a picture-perfect scene of calm and natural beauty.
“Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless,” DFO Das captioned the clip on her X account.
“I took this video myself while doing wildlife photography. Debrigarh Sanctuary has a lot of deer, more than 60 in every square kilometre. On this winter morning, the deer was resting in the sunlight on the road and it was a beautiful sight,” Das told OmmcomNews.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bargarh recorded a chilly 15°C on Sunday as a cold wave swept through the region. The winter sunlight drew the deer out of the forest, where they could be seen quietly wandering and basking along the sanctuary paths.
The viral video has highlighted not only the beauty of Debrigarh Sanctuary but also the thriving population of deer in the region.
