Baripada: A cold wave has swept across areas under the Similipal National Tiger Reserve, with temperatures plummeting to record lows. Regional Chief Conservator of Forests (RCCF) Prakash Chand Gogineni has reported that the mercury has dipped significantly, bringing chilly weather to the region.
Going by the information provided by RCCF, UBK has recorded a low of 4 °C, while Chahala and Barehipani have recorded 7 °C and 8 °C, respectively. Gurguria has recorded a temperature of 09°C, while Ramatirtha, Kiajhari, and Satkosia have recorded 13°C each. The humidity levels are at 07%, 25%, 85%, 84%, and 84% in different areas.
According to the RCCF, there has been no rainfall in the region. The cold wave is expected to continue, with temperatures likely to remain low in the coming days.
