Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, has recorded its coldest November night in 25 years, with the mercury dipping to 12.9°C. This is the lowest temperature recorded in the city since 2000, breaking the previous record of 13.5°C set in 2009.
According to reports, Bhubaneswar’s temperature has been on a downward trend, with the city recording its coldest November night in 25 years. The temperature trend in the city over the past few days is as follows: November 14: 14.8°C, November 15: 15°C, November 16: 13°C, and November 17 (today): 12.9°C.
The chill is not limited to Bhubaneswar, as the entire state of Odisha is experiencing a significant drop in temperature, with many districts recording temperatures below 12°C. G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest temperature at 5.4°C, followed by Phulbani at 8°C.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the cold wave will continue for the next few days, with temperatures likely to remain low, especially in the northern, interior, and hilly districts.
The IMD has advised residents, especially vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses, to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe.
