Bhubaneswar: Two youths died and four others were seriously injured due to a collision between a bike and a scooter near Kamagara bridge on Dhenkanal- Kamakhyanagar Road.
The deceased, identified as Biswa Prasad Baral (21) and Ganguli Baral, both from Keutabereni village, were riding a bike when it collided with a scooter.
According to reports, the scooter, driven by Manua Mallick from Achhanda village, was carrying his mother, sister, and nephew when the mishap took place. All occupants were thrown off the bridge, with the bike riders suffering fatal head injuries. The bike was travelling at high speed, causing Biswa and Ganguli to suffer fatal head injuries, resulting in severe bleeding. Both died on the spot.
Residents rescued the injured and transported them to the District Headquarters Hospital via 108 ambulance. After initial treatment, they were referred to Cuttack for further care. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
