Bhubaneswar: In a significant operation, Bhadrak police have detained 17 persons suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals at the Bhadrak bus stand.
The detainees, who claimed to be from Murshidabad district in Kolkata, were intercepted at the night shelter near the new bus stand in Bhadrak after police found their activities and conversations to be suspicious.
Meanwhile, police are verifying their Aadhaar cards and other documents to ascertain their true identities.
Bhadrak Superintendent of Police, Manoj Rout, confirmed the detention and stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain the true identities of the individuals. The police are working to determine whether the detainees have any connections to any suspicious activities or organisations.
Notably, the state government is taking a tough stance against these infiltrators and is working to identify and verify their activities.
The Law Minister recently stated that the state government is working closely with the central government to address this issue, and all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure the deportation of these infiltrators.
