Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Supremo Naveen Patnaik today paid homage to India’s first woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, on her birth anniversary, observed as National Integration Day.
Taking to his X handle, Patnaik lauded Gandhi’s strong leadership and remarkable contribution to building a strong India.
“Humble tributes to India’s first woman Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi, on her birth anniversary – observed as National Integration Day. Her strong leadership, her remarkable resolve and contribution to build a strong India will always be remembered,” read Patnaik’s post.
Indira Gandhi, who served as Prime Minister from 1966 to 1977 and again from 1980 until her assassination in 1984, is remembered for her significant role in shaping India’s growth and development.
