Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is set to commence paddy procurement from December 25, 2025, with Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta assuring that all preparations have been completed to ensure smooth operations.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Minister Samanta said, “The state government is ready. If the paddy is ready, we are also prepared. Our Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and officials have been mobilised, and millers have been assigned the responsibility of clearing godowns to facilitate seamless procurement.”
The minister emphasised that the government’s aim is to ensure that every registered farmer benefits from the procurement drive.
“Paddy will be procured from all registered farmers. No farmer will be left unattended,” he added.
Minister Samanta further stated that the state administration, along with millers and PACS, has been instructed to coordinate closely so that operations begin on time and any logistical issues are promptly addressed.
