Balasore: A bar manager and his associate were attacked and robbed of cash and mobile phones by three miscreants on National Highway-16 near Khantapada in Balasore district.
The incident occurred late last night when the victims, Puneshwar Kumar and Chhatu of Oliapatana village, were returning home. The robbers blocked their vehicle, assaulted them with sharp objects, and made off with their belongings and cash.
The victims were taken to Khatapada Hospital in Balasore initially. As their condition deteriorated, they were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital. On the other hand, police have received a formal complaint in this regard.
The incident has sparked concerns about safety on national highways, with locals and intellectuals demanding increased security measures from the district administration.
