Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has ramped up security arrangements for the upcoming Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, scheduled to start on November 27. President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to address the House as the guest of honour.
A three-tier security plan is in place, with 33 platoons of police force, striking force units, and personnel from various departments, including Fire Services.
Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh reviewed the security measures, deploying DCPs, ACPs, Inspectors, and other officers to ensure a smooth and secure event. Multiple CCTV cameras have been installed, and five temporary police control rooms have been set up to monitor activities across different zones.
“Police are well prepared for the President’s visit and the Winter Session,” Singh said, adding that anti-terror teams and extra forces will be deployed along the routes from the airport to Raj Bhavan and the Assembly. Around 225 officials will remain on duty throughout the session.
