Cuttack: The Lalbagh police on Wednesday arrested Utkal Deepika Rout, wife of Odia rapper and engineer Abhinav Singh (32), on charges of abetting her husband’s suicide.
Abhinav Singh was found dead in his Bengaluru apartment in Kadubeesanahalli on February 9 (Sunday). He was employed with a private company in the city and had gained recognition as an Odia rapper.
According to police, the arrest follows a 285-day-long investigation into the circumstances surrounding Singh’s death. The family had alleged that Rout was responsible for her husband’s demise, prompting police to probe the matter thoroughly.
After the arrest, Rout was produced in court, where legal proceedings are now underway.
The Lalbagh police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and more details regarding the case will be revealed as the probe progresses.
