Bhubaneswar: President Drapadi Murmu is set to address the Odisha Assembly today, marking a historic first for the state. The event is highly anticipated, with MLAs eagerly awaiting her speech.
The President is expected to discuss the themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’and ‘Viksit Odisha’, sharing her insights and expertise with the lawmakers. Her address is likely to focus on the importance of effective representation of people’s problems in the Assembly.
The programme is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm, with a photo session with MLAs preceding her address. The state government has made all necessary arrangements for the event.
Notably, the Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is all set to commence today. The session will run until December 31, with 29 working days scheduled.
On the second day of the session, November 28, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to present the first supplementary budget for the year 2025-26. Following this, discussions on additional expenditure demands from various departments are slated to begin on December 4.
