Bhubaneswar: A retired Junior Grade Despatcher from the office of the Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Circle, Baripada, has been convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada.
Gourahari Patra, was found guilty of misappropriating government money by preparing false treasury challans and forging rubber seals of bank officials.
The court sentenced Patra to thee years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000. Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance will initiate proceedings to stop Patra’s pension benefits.
