Bhubaneswar: Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain informed the Odisha Legislative Assembly that a total of 13,09,250 educated youths have registered their names in different District Skill Development-cum-Employment Offices in the state as of October 31, 2025.
Responding to a query by MLA Arvind Mohapatra, Swain said that between June 2024 and October 2025, 37,371 educated youths have been offered government jobs across various departments. Additionally, 26,412 candidates were shortlisted for placement in private sector organisations through placement drives organised by District Skill Development cum Employment Offices between April 2024 and September 2025.
The minister also stated that the registration portal of the Directorate of Employment, Govt. of Odisha, serves as an interface that integrates job seekers and facilitates access to both public and private sector employment opportunities.
The assembly was informed that a significant number of youths are still waiting for employment opportunities.
