Bhubaneswar: There are 4,849 government high schools in Odisha, and the post of Headmaster is lying vacant in 2,585 schools, informed School and Mass Education (SME) Minister Nityananda Gond in the State Assembly on Friday.
The Minister also stated that the process of filling these vacant posts through promotion is underway.
The Minister’s response came in reply to a question from Jaleswar MLA Aswini Kumar Patra, who sought information on the number of government high schools in the state and action taken by the state government to fill the vacant Headmaster posts.
