Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has outlined a comprehensive implementation strategy for the IT Policy 2025, aiming to create 1 million employment opportunities, positioning Odisha as an R&D hub.
This was stated by Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, in response to a question raised by MLA Sagar Charan Das in the Assembly on the implementation roadmap of the Odisha IT Policy 2025.
Mahaling informed that the policy focuses on emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cybersecurity, and Blockchain and aligns with Odisha’s long-term vision for 2036 and 2047. A multi-tier governance structure has been put in place to ensure timely execution, with a High-Level Committee chaired by the Chief Secretary for policy oversight and special packages.
The Minister further stated that the government has also established the Policy Advocacy & Vision Group (PAVG) to act as a think tank for mid-course corrections, and the Odisha Computer Applications Centre (OCAC) as the nodal agency with dedicated Project Implementation and Management Units. The GO SWIFT Single Window Portal will provide end-to-end investor facilitation, project tracking, and grievance redressal.
The Operational Guideline of IT Policy-2025 is expected to be published shortly, providing further details on implementation.
