Bhubaneswar: A severe cold wave is likely to grip Odisha, with night temperatures expected to drop further in the next few days. The mercury is likely to dip by 4 degrees Celsius over the next four days, according to the India Meteorological Department.
According to the weather forecast, the night temperature may drop by another degree Celsius in coastal and central Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, on December 7. However, a slight rise of 1-2 degrees is expected on December 8, followed by a further drop from December 9.
Places like Phulbani, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Sundargarh, Nabrangpur, Koraput, and Kandahar are likely to experience low temperatures today. Besides, dense fog is expected in Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Jharsuguda, Balangir, and Sonepur today.
On Tuesday, G Udayagiri recorded the lowest temperature at 9.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Daringbadi (10 degrees), Chipilima (11.7 degrees), Phulbani (12 degrees), Jharsuguda (12.1 degrees), and Rourkela (12.2 degrees).
The night temperature in Cuttack was recorded at 14.8 degrees Celsius, while Bhubaneswar recorded 16.4 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda’s night temperature was 1.4 degrees below normal.
