Bhubaneswar: A young man died on the spot after being run over by an Ama Bus near Satsang Vihar in the capital city on Thursday, triggering tension in the area.
The incident led to chaos on the busy stretch as locals and commuters gathered at the site, protesting the accident and demanding immediate action. Traffic came to a standstill for a considerable time, with more than 100 vehicles stranded due to the blockade.
On receiving information, personnel from Saheed Nagar police station reached the location to pacify the crowd and restore order.
Efforts were underway to clear the road and initiate an investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal accident.
