Bonai (Sundargarh): A heavy truck was completely gutted after it caught fire on National Highway 143 near Tikayatpali on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in front of the State Bank of India branch under Tikayatpali police limits.
Sources said flames suddenly erupted from the moving vehicle, prompting panic among nearby commuters and locals. Residents immediately alerted the fire brigade and police. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control, but the truck was already reduced to ashes.
Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire and identify the owner of the vehicle. No casualties were reported.
