Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warnings, predicting cold wave conditions and dense fog in several districts of Odisha till December 12.
According to the forecast, dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places over the Sundargarh and Kandhamal districts on December 9 and 10.
Cold wave conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets over Sundargarh, Angul, and Jharsuguda districts on December 9 and 10.
The IMD has warned that the cold wave conditions will spread to other districts, including Kalahandi, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput, Sonepur, and Cuttack, from December 11 to December 12.
“Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over the districts of Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Koraput, Sonepur, Cuttack,” read the IMD’s forecast for December 12.
Residents of these districts are advised to be prepared for the cold weather conditions and take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe. The IMD has urged people to be cautious while travelling, especially during early morning hours when visibility may be poor due to dense fog.
