Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal on Monday felicitated eight frontline railway employees for their exceptional dedication, alertness and contribution towards ensuring safe and uninterrupted train operations across the railway network.
The employees who were honoured include Boni Kiran Kumar, Station Superintendent of Jaggayapalem; Kallepalli Suneel and Jogi Ramesh, both Technician-I (C&W) from Visakhapatnam; Pillala Ramu, Track Maintainer-IV of Jarati; Venkateswararao Kaya, Goods Train Manager from Koraput; V. Someswara Rao, Loco Pilot (Mail/Express) of Titlagarh; Subhendu Kumar Sahoo, Pointsman ‘A’ of Badabandha; and Satish Kumar, Pointsman ‘A’ of Charbatia.
According to East Coast Railway, the timely response and proactive actions of these employees played a crucial role in ensuring operational safety, preventing potential disruptions and upholding the high safety standards of Indian Railways. Their presence of mind and commitment at critical moments helped avert possible incidents and ensured smooth train movements.
While presenting the awards, the General Manager underlined the vital role played by frontline staff in the day-to-day functioning of the railways. He stated that Track Maintainers, Signal and OHE staff, Loco Pilots, Technicians, Goods Train Managers and Station Managers form the backbone of railway operations, and their constant vigilance and dedication are indispensable for maintaining efficiency, punctuality and safety across the vast railway network.
East Coast Railway reiterated its commitment to strengthening a culture of safety and operational excellence. The organisation also reaffirmed that it will continue to recognise and encourage the invaluable service rendered by employees working at the grassroots level, whose efforts often go unnoticed but remain critical to the safe movement of millions of passengers and tonnes of freight every day.
