Bhubaneswar: The 8th State Police Inter-Battalion Commando Competition kicked off at the Special Operation Group (SOG) Chandaka this morning.
The event aims to enhance combat skills, physical capabilities, strategic skills, and mental endurance among commandos, said Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sanjeev Panda.
402 commandos from 17 teams of various armed battalions are participating in the competition, showcasing their skills in obstacle courses, confidence courses, and firing, among others. Panda emphasised the importance of staying physically and mentally fit, updated with modern technology, and tactical skills to tackle challenges.
“Odisha Police is committed to making the force modern, capable, and alert to strengthen law and order and peace in the state,” Panda said. SP Special Branch Raj Prasad, Deputy Commandant Payal Dayal, and Sports Officer Neela Madhab Swain were present at the inauguration ceremony.
