Bhubaneswar: A high-level meeting of the fourth Coastal Security Committee was held at the State Police Headquarters today, chaired by Director General of Police, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, and Director General of Police (Crime Branch) Binaytosh Mishra.
The meeting discussed security-related issues with senior officials of major oil and gas companies, emphasising proper cooperation and coordination between Odisha Police and the companies. Key areas of focus included security and transportation systems, compliance with guidelines, and strengthening security measures.
DG Crime Branch Binaytosh Mishra assured police assistance for oil company security, stressing the need for good coordination between district police and company officials. The meeting highlighted priorities like preventing oil theft, pipeline breakage, and misuse of drones by anti-social elements.
Recommendations included joint review meetings, information sharing, and secure communication channels. The meeting aimed to enhance security for critical petroleum infrastructure in Odisha, including Paradip.
The meeting was attended by Director (Intelligence) R. P. Koche, Additional Director General of police (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police Narasingh Bhola, DIAG (Central) Satyajit Nayak, IOCL (CGM) Kamal Sheel, (CGM, Security) Tarun K. Bishai, (CGM, Operations) R. K. Sahu and senior officials of major companies like BPCL, HPCL and GAIL.
