Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday forecasted dense fog in isolated pockets across several districts of Odisha till December 29, 2025.
According to the IMD mid-day weather bulletin, a yellow alert has been issued for dense fog during the early morning hours in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Sonepur, and Kandhamal on December 25.
In addition, shallow to moderate fog is expected in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Angul, Koraput, Kalahandi, Bhadrak, Boudh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Kendrapara, and Jagatsingpur.
The IMD further reiterated the yellow warning for dense fog in Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, and Jharsuguda until December 29.
The IMD has urged residents and commuters to exercise caution, as reduced visibility could affect road and rail travel in the affected districts.
