Bhubaneswar: Severe winter has gripped Odisha, bringing dense fog that has disrupted traffic, flight operations, and train communication in several districts. Capital city Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Koraput are among the areas worst affected, with visibility reduced to 10-20 metres in many places.
The fog has also impacted Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Khurdha, with poor visibility causing concerns for commuters. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in several districts, warning residents to exercise caution.
The cold wave is expected to intensify, with temperatures likely to drop further in the coming days. The IMD has predicted no change in wthe eather till next seven days. People have been advised to stay warm and take necessary precautions to cope with the cold and reduced visibility.
