Bhubaneswar: A severe cold wave swept across Odisha on Saturday morning, with minimum temperatures plummeting below 10 degrees Celsius in several areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts the wintry conditions will persist for at least another week.
Similipal bore the brunt of the cold, with Upar Barha Kamuda dipping to a chilly 3 degrees Celsius, followed by Chahala (5 degrees), Ramatirtha (10 degrees), and Gurguria (6 degrees). Koraput was the coldest location in the state at 4.8 degrees Celsius, while Daringbadi (6.5 degrees), Jharsuguda (7.2 degrees), and Phulbani (7.5 degrees) also froze.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded minimum temperatures of 14.6 degrees and 12.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. The state’s capital city is likely to remain foggy, with temperatures ranging between 15-17 degrees Celsius today.
