Bhubaneswar: Odisha is experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures plummeting across the state. Daringibadi recorded a record low of 6°C on Saturday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per the IMD evening weather bulletin, temperatures were recorded as follows: Phulabani at 6.4°C, Koraput at 6.6°C, Rourkela at 7°C, Angul and Nabarangpur at 9°C, Keonjhar at 9.1°C, Sundargarh at 9.4°C, Bolangir at 9.5°C, Bhawanipatna at 9.8°C, Sonepur at 10.1°C, Boudh and Rayagada at 10.4°C, and Baripada at 10.8°C.
The twin cities recorded comparatively higher temperatures, with Bhubaneswar at 13.3°C and Cuttack at 11.6°C.
The IMD has also warned of dense fog in the early morning hours in isolated pockets of Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jagatsinghpur districts, expected to persist until December 31, 2025.
Citizens have been advised to take precautions against the cold, particularly in low-lying areas prone to fog.
