Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended the deadline for completing e-KYC for Public Distribution System (PDS) beneficiaries by two months, with the new deadline set for February-end.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra announced this, stating that 96% of eligible beneficiaries have already completed the process, while only four per cent of beneficiaries are yet to complete the process.
Beneficiaries can visit their nearest fair price shop or ration card management centre to complete their Aadhaar-linked e-KYC. The process is ongoing at all fair price shops and ration card management centres across the state. Notably, eligible beneficiaries continue to receive PDS commodities despite not completing e-KYC.
The government has distributed 8 lakh new ration cards so far. Minister Patra emphasised that no eligible beneficiary has been deprived of food security due to non-completion of e-KYC.
