Jajpur: In a major bust, the Excise Department sleuths seized 52 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 5.20 lakh and arrested three youths selling it on a bike near Ballavaghat under the Town police station.
According to reports, the accused, Satyaprakash Sahu, Anshuman Boitei, and Indrajit Padhii, were caught red-handed with the contraband. The excise team swooped down on them while they were peddling the substance on a bike. The team had to chase them down as they tried to flee. Two of the accused are from Jajpur town, while one is from Bhadrak
The bike used by the accused was also confiscated.
This incident highlights the growing concern of youth falling prey to substance abuse in Jajpur town.
