Bhubaneswar: The temperature in Odisha has taken a sharp dip, with Bhubaneswar recording a 3.2°C fall in the past two days.

As of 5:30 am today, the temperature in Bhubaneswar stands at 15.4°C, down from 18.6°C on January 4 and 18°C on January 5. Similarly, Jharsuguda has witnessed an even sharper decline, with a 5.6°C drop in temperature, currently standing at 8°C.

Besides, several other places in Odisha recorded substantial drop in temprature. Jharsuguda has seen the largest drop at 5.6°C, followed by Balasore at 5°C, Keonjhar at 4.8°C, Chandbali at 4°C, Paradip at 3.6°C, and Puri at 2.6°C.

Meanwhile, The IMD has indicated that night temperatures are likely to fall further over the next four days before stabilising.

For Bhubaneswar and its surrounding areas, dense fog is likely to prevail during early morning hours over the next 24 hours, with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 27 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius respectively. High humidity levels are contributing to the persistence of foggy conditions.

The IMD has also issued an advisory for farmers, cautioning that dense fog may affect early morning agricultural operations in several districts. Meanwhile, no weather warning has been issued for fishermen along the Odisha coast, as sea conditions are expected to remain calm over the next five days.
