Bhubaneswar: The second edition of the Guru Padmasambhava Prayer Meeting and International Buddhist Conference is set to take place from January 11 to 16 at the renowned Buddhist sites of Ratnagiri-Udayagiri-Lalitgiri, also known as the Diamond Triangle of Odisha.
Organized by Light of Buddhadharma Foundation International, Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, and Department of Tourism, the event aims to promote research on Guru Padmasambhava’s life and teachings, Buddhism, and its propagation.
The six-day prayer meeting will be followed by the International Buddhist Conference on January 14 and 15, featuring Buddhist gurus, devotees, researchers, and historians from across the country. Discussions will focus on Guru Padmasambhava’s life, Buddhism, and Odisha’s Buddhist heritage, with plans to publish a book based on the conference’s outcomes.
This conference seeks to develop Odisha’s Buddhist tourism and cultural destinations, highlighting the state’s significance in spreading Buddhism. The first edition of the Guru Padmasambhava prayer ceremony was held at the Diamond Triangle in Odisha last year.
