Transport Secy Usha Padhee In Rourkela; DGCA Team Visits Plane Crash Site, Probe Underway

Bhubaneswar: Transport Department Principal Secretary Usha Padhee arrived in Rourkela today, accompanied by a team of specialist doctors, to review the situation and treatment of injured passengers following the ‘India One’ plane’s forced landing.

Speaking to the media, Padhee stated that Chief Minister Mohan Majhi had immediately instructed authorities to provide all possible help and support upon receiving the incident’s information.

A state-level doctors’ team has been constituted to monitor the health of the injured passengers and pilots at JP Hospital. Two specialist doctors also landed in Rourkela in a special helicopter to assist in treatment, padhee said.

The state government is cooperating fully with the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau’s team, which has arrived for the probe. Protocols and rules are being followed as per the Civil Aviation Ministry’s guidelines, she added.

“We are providing all support to the team of Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau which arrived in the city for investigation into the plane crash. The State government has complied with all protocols and rules in the investigation by the Civil Aviation ministry. The investigating team also conducted an aerial survey of the crash area. The Aviation director has camped in Rourkela. The DGCA team visited the accident site,” she informed.

Padhee thanked the district administration, police, and local residents for their support. She plans to visit the hospital, review the situation, and discuss further assistance required.
