Bhubaneswar: Odisha is experiencing a cold wave, with temperatures dropping significantly due to cold, dry winds from the northwest and north directions.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Jharsuguda recorded a temperature of 8.6°C at 5:30 am today, indicating a chilly start to the day.
Keonjhar recorded a temperature of 10.2°C, while Bhubaneswar was slightly warmer at 13.2°C. Balasore, on the other hand, registered a temperature of 13.6°C.
Going by the IMD prediction, the cold wave is expected to continue in the state till January 17. However, from January 18, temperatures are likely to rise due to the influence of a western disturbance, bringing some relief from the chill.
