Bhubaneswar: A video of a person using a mobile phone at Ananda Bazaar in Puri’s Jagannath temple has gone viral, sparking concerns about security breaches.
The incident has raised questions about how the person managed to enter the temple with a mobile phone despite multiple layers of security checks and advisories prohibiting electronic devices. In the viral video, the person was seen talking at Anand Bazaar for a long time.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred, with multiple instances of photos and videos taken inside the temple going viral in recent months.
Last October, a mobile phone was found inside the temple premises, leading to the detention of a temple gumasta (an employee) who was allegedly taking photos. The police had detained and interrogated him at the Singhadwar police station.
Furthermore, there was another incident where two youths were caught taking photos using a hidden camera in his glasses, and he was promptly detained by the police personnel. These incidents have prompted the police administration to take serious notice and tighten security measures to prevent such breaches in the future.
