Bhubaneswar: As part of Road Safety Week 2026, the Interact Club of SAI International School conducted a Road Safety Observation programme on Friday at Bharat Petroleum & CNG Gas Filling Station, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, to promote awareness on road safety and safe driving practices.
The programme was graced by Sanat Kumar Jena, Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Bhubaneswar, who delivered an informative speech highlighting the importance of obeying traffic rules, wearing helmets and seat belts, and driving responsibly. The school encouraged and supported the Interact Club students in successfully planning and conducting the event.
Students, accompanied by teachers and staff members, actively participated in the programme. To make the initiative impactful, students performed a short skit on road safety. They prepared handmade badges with the message “Pledge to Drive Safe” and made the public wear those, and pasted stickers with the same message on vehicles. The RTO also provided informative leaflets, which were distributed among the public to spread awareness.
Students counselled motorists who were not wearing helmets or seat belts, sensitising them about road safety norms. The observation was later extended to the school campus, where badges were worn by the management staff, Principal, teachers, and students.
The programme was a meaningful experience that instilled a sense of responsibility among students and reinforced the message of safe and responsible road behaviour.
