Bhubaneswar: A western disturbance is sweeping across Odisha, bringing much-needed relief from the cold wave.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Jharsuguda recorded a temperature of 8.8°C, marking a 2°C increase from the previous day’s low, while Keonjhar recorded 10.6°C, a 1.2°C rise from yesterday’s reading, at 5:30 am today. The capital city, Bhubaneswar, recorded a temperature of 12°C at the same time.
The IMD, meanwhile, attributes this to the western disturbance’s impact on the region’s weather patterns.
The western disturbance is expected to intensify its grip on Odisha, bringing relief from the cold wave. As the disturbance gathers strength, night temperature is likely to rise, making the nights relatively warmer.
Going by IMD prediction, night temperatures are expected to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius over the next two days.
