Bhubaneswar: Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Monday inaugurated the Odisha State Beverages Corporation Limited (OSBCL) depot and office in Chhatrapur through virtual mode from the Excise Department Conference Hall at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
The new facility, built at a cost of Rs 17.47 crore on a 3-acre site, has a storage capacity of 28,000 square feet. It is expected to streamline supply to 190 retail traders across the excise districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, and Berhampur.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Harichandan said the state government is committed to strengthening the excise system and curbing illegal liquor trade.
“The Chhatrapur depot will help in organized distribution, efficient parking management, and prevent revenue loss to the state,” he added.
The inauguration was attended by senior officials including Principal Secretary of the Excise Department Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, Excise Commissioner P. Anvesha Reddy, and OSBCL Managing Director Deben Kumar Pradhan. Chhatrapur MLA Krushna Chandra Nayak and District Collector Keerthi Vasan V also participated and addressed the gathering.
