Bhubaneswar: The Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2025–26 is progressing smoothly across all 30 districts of the State, with paddy procurement gaining strong momentum. As on date, the State has procured 30,49,560 LMT of paddy from 6,93,097 farmers which depicts robust participation with efficient procurement operations.
Districts like Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Bargarh, Bolangir and Jharsuguda have already procured more than 60% of their target. In case of Sambalpur, 96% of the Paddy Procurement is completed against it target with 61,650 number of farmers are able to sell their paddy on 22nd Jan 2026 in comparison to 56,831 Farmers as on 22nd Jan 2025.
Similarly, in Subarnapur district 77% of Paddy has been procured against the target and about 57,217 no of Farmers have been able to sell their paddy compared to 51,500 no of Farmers in the previous year.
In Ganjam, Total 476 number of Mandis are operational with 45,255 farmers being able to sell paddy in comparison to 18,121 farmers last year on the same date. In case of Rayagada 10,490 farmers are able to sell their paddy against 9655 farmers participating in the last KMS.
Till today, the State Government has made payment ₹7,914.15 crore towards Minimum Support Price (MSP) and Input Assistance. In a major reform initiative, the Government has implemented e-KYC Aadhaar-based payment systems for the first time, ensuring that payments are made directly to genuine farmers registered on the P-PAS (Paddy Procurement Automation System) portal, thereby strengthening transparency.
Procurement operations have just begun in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Jajpur & Kendrapra and is slowly gaining pace.
A round-the-clock Control Room has been operationalized at the OSCSC Headquarters to closely monitor paddy arrivals and procurement progress, facilitate planning of lifting schedules, and ensure seamless movement of foodgrains from mandis.
