Bhubaneswar: A gruesome triple murder has rocked the quiet Anandpur area in Keonjhar district. The ghastly crime took place in Nialijharan village under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district on Sunday evening, leaving locals in a state of shock.
According to preliminary police reports, Laxman Soren allegedly attacked and killed his younger brother Jitendra Soren, Jitendra’s wife, and their daughter using an axe. The brutal incident is believed to stem from a long-standing family feud, primarily centered around a land dispute that had been simmering for years.
While the exact motive is still under investigation, sources indicate that the killings erupted amid escalating tensions over property rights between the brothers.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from Ghasipura Police Station reached the scene and have detained Laxman Soren for questioning.
The bodies of the three victims have been recovered and sent to the nearby hospital for post-mortem examination. Police are examining the crime scene for further evidence, including the weapon used in the attack.
