Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unfurled the national flag at Barabati Stadium today during the grand state-level celebrations of the 77th Republic Day, delivering an inspiring address that blended national pride with Odisha’s governance roadmap.

Amid patriotic fervor, parades, and cultural displays, Majhi announced that every Monday will be dedicated exclusively to grievance redressal across the state.

“Senior officers from the state to the district level will prioritize hearing grievances on Mondays, unless they have very important meetings,” Majhi declared. He emphasized that a clean, efficient, transparent, sensitive, and corruption-free administration is essential for implementing government policies. “I have personally stressed this since day one,” he said, highlighting rapid reforms that now enable citizens to access over 400 government services online from home.

Majhi underscored grievance redressal as a core priority. He revealed personally meeting over 50,000 people through programs, resolving about 15,000 grievances with a 95% success rate. Recently, over 24,000 beneficiaries were added under the Subhadra scheme via public grievance sessions, proving “this is truly a people’s government.”

A 15-point program has been rolled out to make administration more agile and efficient, ensuring faster, quality services. The CM announced that around 40,000 government appointments have been made so far, with the target of 1.5 lakh in five years on track. He described the coming years as the “Years of Opportunities” for Odisha’s youth in both government and private sectors.

On anti-corruption efforts, Majhi hailed the Odisha Vigilance Department as the country’s best, achieving a conviction rate exceeding 50% against corrupt officials. “Corrupt officials are now counting their days in fear,” he asserted.
