Dhenkanal: In a swift and courageous rescue operation, personnel of the Bhuban Fire Service station successfully saved two children who were trapped inside a deep well at Barua village under Bhuban police station limits on Tuesday.
The victims—a 15-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl—had fallen into a nearly 60-foot-deep well, triggering panic in the locality. Upon receiving information, the Bhuban Fire Service team rushed to the spot and immediately launched a rescue operation.
Firefighters used specialized equipment, including a rope ladder and chair knot technique, to carefully descend into the well and bring both children out safely. The operation was carried out with precision, ensuring that neither of the minors sustained serious injuries during the rescue.
After being pulled out alive, the children were promptly shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Bhuban, in a fire service vehicle for medical examination and treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
The timely intervention and professional handling of the operation by the fire service personnel were widely appreciated by local residents, who credited the team for averting a possible tragedy.
