Five-Year-Old Boy Suffers Severe Burns After Falling Into Hot Rice Porridge

Bhubaneswar: A five-year-old boy sustained severe burn injuries when he accidentally fell into a pot of hot rice porridge at his home in Aitalang village under Balipatna police station on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Friday morning.

The injured child, identified as the son of Mantu Bhoi, suffered severe burns on his back, shoulders, abdomen, hands, and other parts of his body.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the child suddenly ran towards his mother, who was preparing to pour the porridge, and accidentally fell into the pot. The child has suffered burns covering approximately 40% of his body.

He was immediately taken to the Balipatna Community Health Centre and later referred to the Capital Hospital for further treatment due to the severity of his injuries.
