Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to convene its Budget Session for 2026 from February 17 with an address by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati.
The session will continue until April 8, providing ample time for legislative deliberations. Following the Governor’s address, the House will take up the Motion of Thanks on the address, offering MLAs an opportunity to debate and express views on the government’s direction.
A key highlight will be the presentation of the Odisha State Budget for 2026-27 by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the Finance Department. The budget is scheduled for February 20 (Monday),
Subsequently, the Appropriation Bill—authorizing withdrawals from the Consolidated Fund to meet the government’s expenditure as outlined in the budget—will be introduced on March 31.
