Bhubaneswar: An 81-year-old man was allegedly killed in Shundhipadar, under Ambadla police limits in Rayagada district, on Monday late night on suspicion of practicing sorcery.

The deceased has been identified as Chichi Ram Bag.

According to reports, Bag suffered fatal head injuries after being attacked and died on the spot. Following the incident, his family lodged a complaint with the Ambadla police station. Police rushed to the village and have initiated an investigation.

Villagers suspect that earlier disputes in the village over alleged sorcery may have triggered the violent act.
