Bhubaneswar: The Bhadrak Police on Tuesday issued an advisory urging social media users to refrain from posting or sharing content—including photos, audio, or videos—that could disrupt communal harmony or social unity.

Taking to X, the police warned that such actions are punishable under Sections 353(2) and 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and offenders may face legal action.

“Citizens who come across such content are encouraged to report it immediately. They should save screenshots and URLs of the offending posts and contact the Bhadrak Cyber Cell at 8480693791,” the post said.

The police emphasised that maintaining peaceful coexistence and social cohesion is a shared responsibility of all citizens, particularly on digital platforms.
