Bhubaneswar: Krutibash Behera, former Secretary of Paikasida Service Co-operative Society of Jaleswar in Balasore district has been convicted in a corruption case by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.
According to reports, Behera was found guilty of misappropriating government funds by fabricating documents and showing fake payments in the name of some beneficiaries under Paikasida Service Co-operative Society under BBCC Bank Ltd during the 2009-10 Kharif Marketing Season.
The court sentenced Behera to three years of rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 50,000. Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance will move to stop Behera’s pension.
