Keonjhar: Ghatgaon police arrested a youth on charges of raping a girl who was his friend and produced in the court.
The accused has been identified as Badal Sahu alias Banti (24), aresident of Manta village under Ghatagaon police station.
According to reports, the victim had approached her friend Badal for a loan of Rs 30,000. Badal asked her to come to a lodge in Ghatgaon, promising to give her the money. Initially hesitant, she went to the lodge after Badal insisted. There, he allegedly raped her and took nude pictures, threatening to make them viral if she reported the incident.
Acting on a complaint filed by the victim’s family, police registered a case and arrested Badal based on the victim’s statement.
