Bhubaneswar: Deputy CM Pravati Parida today announced plans to develop Daringbadi, often referred to as Odisha’s Kashmir, as a major tourist destination, and establish a corridor in Chakapada in honour of slain Hindu leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati.
Daringbadi will be developed as a destination hub so that tourists can visit and enjoy nature. Tourists will stay for two or three days to enjoy the serene environment. We are preparing the road map accordingly. Besides, we are also adding the Swami Laxmanananda Corridor in Chakapada in honour of slain Hindu Guru Swami Laxmanananda. We are boosting tourism to help increase the income of local residents. The results and outcome will be visible in two-three years,” Pravati Parida, Deputy CM, said while visiting Daringbadi and Chakapada in Kandhamal district.
Parida praised Swami Laxmanananda’s sacrifice, calling it inspiring, and paid respects at Chakapad Ashram. The meeting at Eco Retreat Daringbadi discussed proposed projects and development steps for the region. The progress of various proposed projects and the development steps to be implemented in the coming days were discussed. Officials from the tourism department and district administration officials including Collector attended the meeting.
