Berhampur: With winter conditions receding across Odisha, schools in Ganjam district will once again conduct morning classes on Saturdays.
The District Education Officer (DEO) of Ganjam has issued a directive to the headmasters of all government and government-aided elementary and secondary schools, instructing them to revert to the usual morning schedule for Saturday classes.
In an official communication, the DEO stated that as the winter season is nearly over, there is no longer a need to continue Saturday classes in the day shift. Headmasters have been asked to make necessary arrangements to resume the morning session on Saturdays as per the standard timetable.
Earlier, on December 18 last year, the Ganjam district administration had directed schools to shift Saturday classes to the day session due to prevailing cold weather conditions across the state. Schools were then instructed to conduct classes from Monday to Saturday in the day shift following normal timings to ensure the safety and well-being of students amid the cold wave.
With temperatures now improving, the district education authorities have decided to restore the regular morning schedule for Saturdays.
