Bhubaneswar: Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati launched the ‘e-Lok Bhavan Odisha App’, a secure web-based platform designed to facilitate citizen interaction with the Governor’s Secretariat. This initiative makes Odisha the first state in the country to introduce a fully automated appointment and visitor management system in Lok Bhavan.
The launch is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India programme, reflecting Lok Bhavan’s commitment to innovation and cleanliness. The app simplifies processes, reducing paperwork and multiple visits. Key features include online booking, real-time tracking, WhatsApp and SMS alerts, digital QR-based e-gate passes, and secure entry verification.
The platform has a centralized dashboard, website integration, and a 360-degree virtual tour of Lok Bhavan. Citizens can register, book appointments, and track status using their mobile number. Approved requests receive WhatsApp and SMS confirmation, QR-based e-gate passes, and reminders.
Governor Kambhampati said the launch marks a progressive step towards transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance. Commissioner-cum-Administrative Secretary Rupa Roshan Sahu and senior officials were present. Lok Bhavan has taken steps towards sustainability, including solar power and electric vehicles, and developed an eco-park “Atal Van” in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
