Bhubaneswar: A compressed bio-gas (CBG) tanker overturned near Jarapada Square in Angul district late at night, sparking fears of a potential explosion.
As per reports, the tanker, carrying flammable gas, lost balance and tipped over near a petrol pump. The Jarapada police swiftly responded to the scene, cordoning off the area and alerting the fire department. Two fire tenders were deployed to monitor the situation, given the hazardous nature of the gas. Power supply was cut off in the vicinity as a precautionary measure.
That apart, a technical team is assessing the situation to determine if there’s any risk of explosion or leakage. The incident has caused concern among locals, with many keeping a safe distance from the area.
